It is officially 25 days until Christmas. So why not start the holiday season with the word ‘festive’.
The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘festive’ as cheerful and jovially celebratory, especially in relation to a holiday or festival.
Families and friends come together to celebrate not only the holiday but their love for each other. Joy is magnified with family recipes, gifts, joy, and quality family time. Children can be children with their belief in Santa and his reindeer, and there is a beautiful, friendly atmosphere to the world.
Hamilton Wright Mabie said, “Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love”.
But what is the best part about Christmas? Charles M Schulz answered this question by saying, “It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matters, it’s who’s around it”.
It is a time when no one is working, everyone is together, and love and kindness are widespread.
Christmas is a time to reflect on the past and get through the good and bad times. It is a time when we can forget the bad things happening and just celebrate with our families. It gives a sense of hope and joy, not only for now but for the future as well.
Agnes M Pahro said, “What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, and hope for the future.”
