Roodepoort/Krugersdorp wish list for the festive season
Mandy Cattanach, the manager at the SPCA, stated that "Our wish-list could go on forever," but has listed some of the urgent items
As we celebrate the festive season and start writing our letters to our dear friend, Santa Claus, hoping to receive that special gift at Christmas, we forget to recognise those in need, those who have been forgotten.
Like everyone else, all the loving animals located at the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA, also have a wish-list of their own.
Mandy Cattanach, the manager at the SPCA, stated that “Our wish-list could go on forever,” but has listed some of the urgent items as the following:
• Cat and dog tinned food and pellets
• Cat and dog treats and durable toys
• Twenty-five-litre builders’ plastic buckets
• Blankets
• HTH (for disinfecting kennels)
• Sponsorship of fuel for our Inspectors’ vehicles
• Fencing, poles, gates and cement to erect more exercise camps for the dogs
• Cat scratching poles
• Shade netting
• Plastic dog beds
• Hose pipes
“Any and all household items can be donated to our charity shop and will be sold to raise funds,” said Mandy.
For these animals it is not just about the materialistic gifts, it’s about people taking the time to spend the day with them and show them some love, as they are alone during the holidays.
