Fleurhof will be host to the Region C mobile clinic
In August of this year (2019) it was announced that the City of Johannesburg is aiming to have 10 fully operational mobile clinics throughout their regions by the end of the year. So far, they are keeping their promise, with five clinics launched by October.
In the 2018/ 2019 budget for the City, R5 million was allocated for development of the fully-equipped clinics and with donations from the City’s partnerships, an additional R3 million was added to the budget.

On 8 November, Ward 70 councillor, Caleb Finn, announced the exciting news that the Region C clinic will be located in Fleurhof and will be operational from Tuesday, 12 November.
These clinics aim to provide more accessible medical care to residents that cannot get to the existing clinics easily. This is why they have been allocated to areas throughout the City that are far away from existing clinics.
Fleurhof has been identified as a community in need of one of these clinics. According to Caleb, there are more clinics and services on the agenda, but he is excited to announce this one as a starting point. “I am very excited about it. We are working on getting additional services, but for now, it will help.”

Starting on 12 November, the mobile clinic will be available to residents every Tuesday between 9am and 2.30pm, excluding public holidays. It is located at the Fleurhof Recreation Centre on Malicite Avenue, Fleurhof.
Caleb has said that the schedule could change in the future, but for now, residents are assured that this will be a weekly service in Fleurhof.
This clinic is not only available to residents in Ward 70. Residents from other Roodepoort wards are welcome to utilise its services, which are similar to those offered at a normal clinic.
