City Power to audit prepaid electricity meters in Fleurhof

While this audit will be conducted in the Fleurhof area, the information is valid for any resident with a prepaid meter in any ward.

Fleurhof residents are asked to be aware of, and accommodating to, City Power officials who will be auditing prepaid electricity meters in the area.

Ward 70 Councillor, Caleb Finn, would like to inform residents that City Power has the authority to audit meters and will disconnect the meters of residents whom they believe are not paying for their electricity.

If residents are experiencing problems with their prepaid meters, or if they are not working, they are urged to log the issue on www.citypower.mobi so that the meters can be repaired.

Residents are liable to a fine from City Power if a call has not been logged and they have not been informed about a meter that is not vending.

“Even if City Power bypassed your meter for technical reasons, you must still log calls on a monthly basis to prove that you are trying to correct the matter,” said Councillor Finn.

Should a complaint not be attended to within five days of logging the call, residents are asked to contact Caleb via email (caleb@ward70.org.za) or WhatsApp (082 040 6374) if emailing is not an option. The messages to councillor Finn must include the meter number, your physical address, name, and contact number.

While this audit will be conducted in the Fleurhof area, the above-mentioned information is valid for any resident with a prepaid meter in any ward. Residents from other wards are asked to approach their ward councillors about issues that have not been attended to.
