Word of the day

The word of the day for 9 November is: creativity.

‘Creativity’ is defined as the use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness.

Edward de Bono said that creativity involves breaking out of established patterns to look at things differently.

Being creative is beautiful; you are open to seeing new and exciting ways to do things, you interpret things in ways that no one else does, and you can make a version of something completely unique.

Scott Adams said that creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, and art is knowing which ones to keep.

We can, however, only learn from our mistakes after making them; we need to try first. Sylvia Plath said, “The worst enemy of creativity is self-doubt”.

We will never accomplish anything, or expand our creative thinking if we doubt our abilities or if we are afraid to fail.

Brene Brown said, “There is no innovation and creativity without failure”.
