Trinityhouse Little Falls recently donated groceries to support the Matla Combined School matric learners who are accommodated at the school during matric exams.
The Matla Matric camp was started by the school to eliminate circumstances that usually affect Grade 12 learners. These learners usually battle with electricity at home, plus overcrowding and access to food.
“During the exam period, Matla Combined School clears classrooms for the learners to sleep in and they provide three meals a day for them. The teachers also help them after hours and during weekends with their studies. They have an 85 per cent pass rate as a result,” said Tarryn Talbot-Over, the head of marketing and admission at Trinityhouse Little Falls, after the school donated much-needed food supplies for the duration of the exams.
As a cherry on top for the matriculants, Tarryn said her school will also be ensuring that every Matla matric learner is able to attend their matric dance, which will be held after the examinations.
The school further wished the Kromdraai-based matrics everything of the best during the exams.
