CPW Wrestlers entertain fans at festival

With no definitive winner, the men shook hands and agreed to a rematch soon.

Champions Pro Wrestling (CPW) was proud to be associated with the “Off the Grid” festival, hosted by the Avril Elizabeth Home for the Handicapped, that took place at Hoërskool Die Burger on 5 October.

The event started off with an action-packed show full of high-flying, ground-shaking wrestling entertainment in the first match, with Wiese taking on Alessio.

Wiese showing Alessio who’s boss.

In the second match, the bad boy, The Biker Boy’s Renegade went face to face with tHE Dangerous Game’s RJ. These two wrestlers had quite the feud over the APWA tag team title and despite his best efforts, RJ came up short when Renegade used his bike chain to take the win.

Next out was Buksie Kruger. The other half of the APWA tag team champions was scheduled to take on Ashton Haye but Renegade used his bike to distract Kruger, which eventually led to Haye taking advantage of the situation, and picking up the victory.

Haye and Renegade got their victory however. Ananzi, the CPW Commonwealth Champion and announcer for the day, scheduled a tag team match, with RJ and Kruger (Die Brahman Bende) taking on Renegade and Haye. After a hard-fought back and forth, RJ and Kruger retained the APWA tag team title and sent the callers packing.

Matthew The Assassin Hammar, who took on Jay Titan, did not disappoint as the villainous Titan went straight after Matthew’s knee, grounding the high-flyer. The back and forth action culminated in some close near falls until The Assassin finally got the upper hand and got a narrow but decisive pin over Titan.

The main event saw one champion taking on another champion, in a match between the current CPW heavyweight champion Mr Wrestling and the CPW All Africa champion The Loud Mouth. Although no titles were up for grabs, bragging rights were. These two started off tentatively, with a test of strength, with both men gaining and losing advantage over the other. Mr Wrestling then used his experience to control the arm of the All Africa champion and grounded him. The action soon spilled outside the ring, and both The Loud Mouth and Mr Wrestling were counted out after brawling into the crowd. With no definitive winner, the men shook hands and agreed to a rematch soon.
