The Ruimsig parkrun is a free weekly timed event that takes place at 8am every Saturday on Handicap Road in Ruimsig.
What made the day more special was the fact the Leilani was finishing her last 27km at the parkrun.
She has been walking 27km a day for 27 days to raise money and awareness for rape victims.
Parkrun organiser, Adele Enslin said, “She is part of our core volunteer team and a great inspiration and friend to many of us, so let’s support her in this.”
Event 57 will take place on Saturday, 19 October and the organisers would like to appeal to all volunteers to be available on time as the survival of the parkrun depends on them.
