Bail denied for taxi shooter

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday, 7 October.

 

Johannes Lubbe, accused of shooting a taxi driver in July, was denied bail after appearing in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday, 7 October, according to Douglasdale Police spokesperson, Captain Kgaoswane.

Lubbe is currently facing a charge of attempted murder after he had shot at a taxi driver multiple times in what appeared to be a road-rage incident.

The taxi, which the victim was driving at the time of the incident, was riddled with bullet holes. The wounded driver consequently crashed the taxi into a perimeter fence on Doreen Road in Ruimsig.
