Soccer clubs reunite at the annual Inter-district Tournament in Florida
Every year the tournament is hosted by a different Football Association
The Florida Albion Football Club hosted the annual Inter-district Tournament, during which various football associations competed against each other, on 14 and 15 September.
The associations included the Rand Central Local Football Association, the North Rand Local Football Association, the Southerns Local Football Association, the Easterns Local Football Association, the Pretoria Football Association, the Diepsloot Football Association, the Cosmo City Football Association and the Bosmont Football Association, which competed in various age groups, ranging from U/10 to U/19.

The tournament was hosted over two days and more than 160 matches were played. “We saw over 10 000 people either participating in or spectating at this year’s event,” said Trevor Niemack, the chairman of the Florida Albion Football Club, who is also the Director of Football for the Rand Central Local Football Association and part of the technical committee for the South African Football Association (SAFA) Johannesburg.

This year, Rand Central walked away with four of the eight cups by winning in the U/11, U/13, U/15 and Ladies’ cup categories.
The Rand Central Local Football Association will participate in a Friendship cup hosted in Germiston during the first week of October.
