When approached by police, the four suspects attempted a get-away. Three of the men escaped but one was apprehended. Police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makubela, confirmed that a Glock pistol and an AK47 were found in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect was arrested on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Jess Denner, Marketing Manager at Clearwater Mall, added that ”No weapons were drawn. No injuries or stolen items were reported. The store manager merely suspected something might happen and pushed the smoke panic button.”
