Power interruptions due to substation maintenance are something the Roodepoort residents have become accustomed to.
On 13 September, a list was released detailing areas that will be experiencing a power outage on Sunday, 29 September. A more detailed list has now been released, showing the streets and areas in lower Witpoortjie that will be affected.

Witpoortjie Ext 4, 17, 28, 18, 19, 6, and 16
• Leerdam Street
• Corlett Avenue
• Quellerie Street
Witpoortjie Ext 20, 10, 22, 11, 9, and 27
• Elsenburg Street
• Van Alkmaar Street
• Randfontein Road
The outage will be from 8am until 3pm and as the power may be restored at any time, residents are urged to treat their power supply as live at all times.
City Power said that these interruptions are necessary to do essential maintenance on the substations, as part of their programme to provide better service.
