After giving everything in the 5km she came second in the 3km and still swam the relay(1,25km x 4 relay, where their team came first), all in one day.

Leigh Mc Morran from Weltevreden Park took part in the 13th CANA African Junior Open Water Championships in Tunis, Tunisia on 15 September 2019.

On 30 June she went to France where she took part in the Toulouse French Cup 5km Event also as a National Youth open water swimmer.

She completed the race in 54,03 minutes, securing a first position in the ladies category and a well-deserved gold medal.

Leigh was also brilliant at the Open Water Nationals for the 5km and 3km swim at Marina Martinique in Jeffrey’s Bay, coming first in her age group.

Earlier this year, on 17 February, Leigh took part in the CANA Zone IV open water swimming event at Lake Oanob near Rehoboth in Namibia. She swam a 1 hour, 4 minute time for the 5km which secured her a gold medal and first for the ladies, with a second overall in the field of ladies and men.
