Happy 60 years to Tony and Val

Two Roodepoort residents recently celebrated 60 years as a married couple. Val and Tony fell in love in 1956 after they met on a blind date, and three years later, on 5 September 1959, they were married.

After living in Discovery for 50 years, they moved into a retirement village in 2010 and are happily living their lives together. Since their marriage, Val and Tony have been blessed with a large family; they have four children, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

“They have been a shining example to their children of what marriage should be,” said Sandy Mare, the couple’s daughter-in-law. The Maré family and the Record team would like to congratulate the couple on their Diamond Anniversary.
