Horison Blockwatch attracts new members with their marketing walk
On 7 September, patrollers from the Horison Blockwatch (HBW) took to the streets of Zone 2, north of Ontdekkers Road, for a promotional walk.
The Horison Blockwatch (HBW) recently conducted a walk through Zone 2 as a way to reintroduce themselves to the residents of Horison. “During the last year, a lot of people left our area, and new people have moved in. These new residents don’t know about the blockwatch – how it keeps the area safe, or how they can participate. Through initiatives like this walk, we will be making HBW visible in our area again. We have a new committee, which is geared up and eager to return the Horison community to the crime-free, safe neighbourhood it used to be,” said Zanoni Labuschagne, the public relations officer for HBW.

The walk turned out to be a success – many residents joined the Horison Blockwatch on that day, and the patrollers were met with positive responses from the community. The list of patrollers and responders is growing steadily, with more than 400 current members.
