Witpoortjie bowlers make their club proud
Witpoortjie Bowling Club took home gold in this year's tournaments
Several members of the Witpoortjie Bowling Club have once again made their club very proud by winning gold medals in various tournaments.
Belinda Taylor, Sue-Anne Rue and Monique van Rensburg took part in the final match of the Provincial Women’s Sables Tournament on 17 August at the Discovery Bowling Club and were crowned as the champions.
The Club’s blind bowlers, Tracy Smith with her guide Tommy Smith, and André Manders with his guide Jannie Manders, took part in this year’s National Championships, and did very well. Tracy won the Nationals and took home a gold medal, and André ended in the Top 3.
“I am very proud of our members who held our name high, and also of the new committee that was chosen for the new season. I hope it will be a great season for all of us,” George Nysschen, President of the Club, concluded.
