SPCA receives help from Ngwenya Market

Many people attending the market brought along a can or two of dog or cat food in support of the SPCA's beloved pets.

Ngwenya Country Market in Muldersdrift held a special Spring market on 1 September, in aid of the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA.

Many people attending the market brought a can or two of dog or cat food in support of the SPCA’s beloved pets.

SPCA fundraiser, Nicole Manners, said, “On behalf of the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA, I would like to thank you most sincerely for so generously giving us a stall at the Ngwenya Country Market on Sunday. We are extremely grateful to have had this opportunity to raise funds for, and create awareness of, our cause.”

According to Nicole, the funds raised on the day amounted to R1 906,00, along with a lot of food and other goodies that were brought in for the animals.

Stall-holders kindly provided prizes for a hamper that was won by Zelda Neto, who has arranged to collect her prize from the SPCA.

The hamper was made more special by the Ngwenya glasses that were donated to the SPCA stall and certainly made the prize extra appealing.

On average, this SPCA cares for about 250 dogs and 150 cats every month.

Nicole said, “The funds and products we received through our stall will greatly assist us in continuing to provide a high standard of care for these precious creatures.”
