Judging to take to the sky in Nationals

The South African Birmingham Roller Union (SABRU) held their annual judging on 31 August, when all the fanciers came together and showcased their pigeons.

The pigeons were judged on the following criteria: the condition of their feathers, the balance of the bird, the apple shape of their bodies, and eye concentration. The fanciers had the chance to add to their kits (groups of pigeons) and also to be the lucky one who had the opportunity buy last year’s champion pigeon.

The fanciers will be taking part in this year’s National Championships, which start on 20 September.
