ProTouch riders part of the winning team at African Games

The Games provided good experience ahead of larger events such as the Commonwealth Games and Olympics for all the riders.

 

ProTouch is proud to have had some of their riders as part of the winning South African team that participated at the 2019 African Games in Morocco.

The South African team consisted of Ryan Gibbons, Kent Main, Jaydé Julius, Clint Trevino Hendricks, Jason Oosthuizen, Zanri Rossouw, Ashleigh Moolman, Jo van de Winkel, Maroesjka Matthee, Carla Oberholzer and Tiffany Keep.

The team came with a plan and left with six gold and three silver medals, plus 135 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) points to add to their points table as the number one team in Africa.

Clint, who won last week’s team time-trial alongside Ryan, Jaydé, Jason and Kent, said, “I was happy to have been selected to represent my country at the Games. We have a really strong team.”

The medals obtained at the Games came as follows:

• Gold – Men’s Team Time Trial

• Gold – Women’s Team Time Trial

• Gold – Men’s Individual Time Trial

• Gold – Women’s Individual Time Trial

• Gold – Women’s Road Race

• Gold – Women’s MTB XCO

• Silver – Men’s Individual Time Trial

• Silver – Women’s Individual Time Trial

• Silver – Men’s Road Race
