Two vehicles collided at the corner of Prosperity Road and Chaucer Avenue in Grobler Park today,Wednesday, 28 August. The driver of an Opel Corsa failed to stop at the stop street and collided with a bakkie while travelling at high speed.
Watch here:
According to the Public Relations Officer for the West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch, Frik Van Zyl, the stop sign on Prosperity Road has been missing for quite some time. This is why so many accidents occur at this intersection.

The impact caused the bakkie to smash into a wall and the Corsa to spin around, flinging one of the passengers out of the vehicle through the boot door.

Emer-G-Med, Apcan Medical Assist, Johannesburg Emergency Management Services, ER24 and First Help were all on the scene. The JMPD arrived shortly after, to take over the scene and gather statements.
The passengers and driver of the Corsa were treated at the scene, but the driver of the bakkie had to be taken to hospital by ER24.
