Another successful operation by the women of the law
The hardworking women were joined by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, who showed them support.
On Wednesday, 21 August, another operation, named Basadi Ba Fiela (which means ‘Women are sweeping’), was conducted on the corner of Louis Street and Ontdekkers Road, in Ontdekkers Park
The operation, which was in celebration of Women’s Month, involved women in blue from the Roodepoort, Florida and Randburg Police Stations, who joined forces with officials from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department.

“At the roadblock, motorists and their vehicles were searched for illegal goods, while the JMPD checked if motor vehicles were roadworthy,” said Mpho More, the Florida Police Station spokesperson.
More said that they noticed that some people were changing routes and vowed that they will work to make sure that the country is safe.
The hardworking women were joined by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, who showed them support.
“We really appreciated the Commissioner’s presence and the support he showed us. We were also joined by our civilians, who distributed pamphlets containing safety tips for women,” she added.
According to More, they continued with the business of the day by going to various malls where they distributed more pamphlets.
