Wilhelm sustained minor injuries and was taken to Milpark Hospital where he underwent surgery on 17 August at about 11am for facial tissue damage.

He was discharged from hospital and is looking well. Doctors confirmed that there were no serious injuries and no bleeding on the brain, only cuts and bruises and that he had injured his right hand and left shoulder.

“I am out of the hospital, a bit sore and bruised but at least nothing too serious. I just want to thank everyone for all the support and also thank you to the special people who assisted me on the scene of the accident. The operation for the facial tissue damage went well, so if I am uglier than I was before – thank you to the drunk drivers. I am seeing the doctor again on Monday for a follow-up,” he concluded.
