Roodepoort Home Affairs will open on 24 August

The Roodepoort Department of Home Affairs will be open on Saturday, 24 August.

 

The Roodepoort Department of Home Affairs has sent out a notification stating that they will be open on Saturday, 24 August, for smart ID card queries and passport collections ONLY.

The Department has specifically invited learners aged 16 and older to come and apply for their smart ID cards.

They urge the community to please take note of the following requirements when applying:

Requirements for the first issue of a Smart ID card:

1. Learner’s birth certificate

2. Copy of both parents’ IDs or death certificates

3. Learners must be accompanied by one of the parents

Requirements for the first issue of a smart ID card when both parents are deceased:

1. Birth certificate of the child

2. Death certificates of the late parents

3. Child must be accompanied by the informant/ guardian

4. ID book/Smart card of the informant/ guardian

5. The guardian must be in possession of the relevant legal documents (e.g. a court order or foster care order). Please note, no affidavits will be accepted

Requirements for a smart ID card re-issue:

1. R140 for new ID card

2. If the applicant’s original ID book has been lost or misplaced, an affidavit from the police station is required
