A wonderful day of chess competition
KSWR entered four of its teams, namely, U/9, U/11, U/13 and U/15.
The King’s School West Rand (KSWR) hosted the Roodepoort Chess Team Championships for the district on Saturday, 20 July.
About 250 participants from neighbouring schools took part in this wonderful day of chess.
KSWR entered four of its teams, namely, U/9, U/11, U/13 and U/15.
“Our teams played like champions against some very stiff competition. We are very proud of our U/11 team, which qualified to participate in the D12 Chess Team Championships on 17 August, 2019. The members of the team are Khodi Nwedo, Tiago Kahn, Tyrell Stewart, Phenyou Seaka, Ethan Mitchell, Simon Louw and Frederick Mashiane,” said Michelle Dos Ramos, the school’s marketing manager.
