Inspectors from the Roodepoort/Krugersdorp SPCA were met with another sickening case of animal cruelty today, 26 July.
Community members alerted them to a dog lying in the veld in Fleurhof, and Mandy Cattanach, the Manager at the SPCA, said, “Upon their arrival, the inspectors were shocked and horrified at what they found. A cross Pom, female dog was lying near a spruit, her back legs tied together with thick wire. The poor girl had been lying like this for some time as the wire had already cut into her back legs cutting off the blood supply causing her back legs to be paralysed.”
She added that the person who did this had to be caught and prosecuted, and appealed for the community’s assistance, “If anyone recognises the dog, please contact our inspectors on 011 672 0448. All information will be kept confidential. We are offering a reward for any information which will lead to a successful prosecution.”
