City Power has reported that it has been hit by a ransomware virus, which has resulted in customers not being able to visit their website, to buy electricity units and upload invoices when making payments.
According to the power utility, the virus has encrypted all their databases, applications and network.

“Our ICT department is currently cleaning and rebuilding all impacted applications. Customers and stakeholders will be updated as and when new information becomes available,” read a tweet from City Power.
