City Power hard at work to tackle unplanned outages

Spokesperson Isaac Mangena explained that their teams are on standby so that they can be dispatched to attend to outages and respond to emergency calls.

City Power has urged residents to use power sparingly as its network is under strain due to cold temperatures.

In a statement released by the power utility, it stated that under these conditions, the electrical system is prone to unplanned outages.

“City Power has put in place a plan to tackle such unplanned outages. The key focus of the plan is to attend to those areas that experience repeated unplanned outages on the same day or week,” read the statement.
