Local pub manager arrested for fraud

According to Muthan, when the manager was informed about the probe into fraud allegations, she vanished.

 

Honeydew Police have confirmed that a manager from a local diner and pub has been arrested for allegedly defrauding the business.

The manager, who cannot be named at this stage due to the nature of the investigation, is accused of stealing R440 000 from this popular restaurant, which we also cannot name for now.

“Her modus operandi for the last six months has been to do double cash-ups, after which she deposited an amount totalling R440 000 into her own bank account,” the spokesperson for the station, Captain Balan Muthan indicated.

According to Muthan, when the manager was informed about the probe into fraud allegations, she vanished.

“Crime intelligence was used to track her down and she was eventually arrested. Her accounts were frozen and seized. Most of the money could be accounted for,” he explained.
