Welcome to the team

Hello, I am Halisje Crous, a small-town girl who grew up in Lichtenburg. I moved to Krugersdorp at the beginning of 2019.

I have always had a passion for writing, and am so thankful for this opportunity to become a journalist for the Roodepoort Record.

I was part of our school newspaper, Die Astrant, from Grade 8 and always thought that I would enter the world of journalism one day. Unfortunately, my plans did not exactly work out, but, now, I have finally been given a chance to pursue my life-long dream.

I have a very bubbly personality and love interacting with people of all sizes, shapes and cultures. My hobbies are reading crime novels, mostly those by JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts). I am a very adventurous person and love the outdoors. I am also a kind-hearted person who will always be there to help others where needed.
