Residents of Ward 83 are reminded to exercise their rights and cast their votes in the upcoming by-election for a new ward councillor.
This comes after the passing away of Suzanne Clarke (former Ward 83 councillor), who lost her battle with cancer on 15 March this year. The by-election will take place on Thursday, 24 July.

Four political parties will contest the by-election. The Democratic Alliance has nominated Dr Florence Roberts as its candidate for the ward, the African National Congress has nominated Carey Spengler-Gathercole, the Economic Freedom Fighters have nominated Stanley Hatlani Masinga, and the Freedom Front Plus has nominated Cor Boer.

The by-election will take place from 7am to 9pm and special votes at voting stations, as well as home visits, will be conducted on 23 July from 8am to 5pm. Please note that special votes are only available to those who have applied for them.

• Helderkruin Laerskool, on the corner of Banket and Ruhamah Drives
• NG Kerk Roodekrans, 7 Azalea Avenue
• West Rand Lutheran Church, 10 CR Swart Road, near Naboom Street
• Laerskool Roodekrans, on the corner of Wilde Amandel Street and Gardenia Avenue
• Klein Helderkruin Retirement Centre, on the corner of Ouklip and Graphite Roads.
