Armed house robbery under investigation

“They hit the domestic worker with a gun while she had her 10-month-old baby with her."

Roodepoort Police are investigating the armed house robbery on Swallow Street, Horison, that was committed on Monday, 8 July.

Captain Juanita Yorke, the Roodepoort Police spokesperson, confirmed this and said, “A case docket has been opened and the matter is currently under investigation”.

Speaking to the Record after the incident, the owner of the house said the robbers took everything they had.

“Five of them came into the house and hit the domestic worker with a gun while she had her 10-month-old baby with her. The thugs then parked their vehicle inside the premises and loaded everything in the car. The baby was not injured,” the owner said.
