Riders make their stables proud
Two riders from the Bexton Park stables in Muldersdrift recently achieved their Gauteng team colours in dressage.
Being born with a love and passion for horse riding was just the start for 13-year-old Cheyenne Meyer-Palmer and 15-year old Katarina Stamenic.
These girls from the Brexton Park Equestrian Stables in Muldersdrift recently received their Gauteng Dressage Team Colours at the Dressage South Africa challenge.
The Dressage South African judges who travel to the difference provinces to adjudicate at the various challenges were present at the Gauteng leg of this challenge, which was held at Eaton Farm, Sun Valley in Kyalami in May.
Cheyenne finished as the second highest qualifier in the Gauteng Pony Riders Novice team, while Katarina was the highest qualifier in the Gauteng Junior pre-lim section.
The stables have been open for the past 23 years and approximately 250 riders train with them. They also breed sport horses and train them for dressage and showjumping.
Cheyenne, who said that she always loved horses, has been riding for the past seven years, and competed with her horse, Rio Grande.
Her dream is to make it all the way to the top and one day compete at the Olympics.
Katarina has been riding for the past 10 years and competing with her horse, Kello First Love for the past five years.
The hardest part of this challenge for her was to stay calm. She also dreams of competing in the Olympics one day.
