The ProTouch Cycling team jetted off to Europe to participate in the Course Cycliste de Solidarnosc in Poland.
According to a post on their Facebook page, Stage 1 (213,7km) of the tour commenced on Tuesday, 3 July. It was characterised by windy weather and fast times.
ProTouch dipped their toes into the water with their first European Tour and did a great job in getting a breakaway under control. It was music to their ears when they heard, via the race radio commentary, in Polish, that they were controlling the race and didn’t need to stand back for any team.
Jaydé Julius Eddie Van Heerden and Kent Warwick Main put in massive turns at the front of the race, stringing the bunch out into a single paceline for many kilometers.

ProTouch said, “More patience … will produce a better result and we will keep fighting and keep flying the South African flag high.”
