Feed-the-Furry delivers more animal food

She is also appealing to the community to continue donating animal food and anything else they can to keep the furry warm this winter.

Mama Kasi Rural Rescue received 220kgs of dog food from the non-profit organisation, Feed-the-Furry.

The organisation held its second food drive for the month on Saturday, 27 June. This followed another one that took place on Saturday, 22 June, and consisted of more cat food than usual, which was delivered to Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary, a shelter that is in need.

Celeste Vermeulen, the founder of Feed-the-Furry, said, “We are going to organise signage for the charity shop. I am also going to try to do two drives for July as well, depending on the amount of donations I get.”

She said further that in September, she will be joining the Sleepathon, which is an animal project during which participants will be experiencing a day in the life of a shelter animal.

“For the Sleepathon, we will be sleeping in the shelters with the homeless dogs and cats,” she said.

She is also appealing to the community to continue donating animal food and anything else they can to keep the furry warm this winter.

“Anyone who wants to donate can call me on 081 408 7724 or email us at info@feed-the-furry. org.za,” said Celeste.
