Third truck accident on William Nicol Drive this year

According to reports, the truck jackknifed on its way down the hill, causing it to shed its load and block the road.

 

In the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 2 July, another truck was involved in an accident on William Nicol Drive near the Ford dealership in Florida Park.

According to reports, the truck jackknifed on its way down the hill, causing it to shed its load and block the road. No reports of injuries could be confirmed.

The incident is said to have taken place at about 3am. When the Northsider visited the scene shortly after sunrise, the truck and its load had already been removed from the scene.

Over the years, William Nicol Drive has been notorious for accidents involving heavy-load vehicles. This year, the Northsider has already reported on two incidents – in March and February respectively. In both instances the trucks caused chaos due to their brakes failing.
