BFF holds another successful soup kitchen

They will have their next soup kitchen on Saturday, 6 July, at Sonop Hardware.

On the chilly morning of Saturday, 22 June, Building the Face of Our Future (BFF) made a difference in someone’s life when they held their second soup kitchen at the municipal flats on Corlett Avenue.

Yolande Opperman, one of the founders of BFF, said they believe in giving back because the more one gives, the more one receives.

Residents of the municipal flats came out in numbers to get their first meal of the day – one that would keep them warm. The volunteers handed out free soup and bread, while children also received chips and juice. Everyone who received the food took home a small pamphlet containing words of encouragement.

The following one will be held on Saturday, 20 July, again at the Municipal flats at the corner of Corlett Avenue and Progress Road.
