Today, 29 June, we celebrate the birthday of Pussycat Dolls lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger.

Nicole is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and television personality. Her career started in high school, where she used to perform in school plays.

She studied at Wright State University and later dropped out to pursue a musical career touring alongside American rock band Days of the New, and through Popstars, became part of the short-lived girl group Eden’s Crush.

Nicole rose to fame as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, who released the albums PCD and Doll Domination, among others, becoming one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time.

Following the group’s dissolution, she successfully ventured into television, winning the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars and becoming a judge on The Sing-Off and on both US and UK versions of The X Factor.

During her career, she sold over 16 million records as a solo artist and a further 54 million with the Pussycat Dolls.

Her other ventures include clothing lines, and a fragrance. She also serves as an ambassador for the Special Olympics and supporter of UNICEF UK.
