This evening Friday, 28 June, City Power is experiencing outages in several parts of Roodepoort.
According to City Power Spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, the outages are caused by multiple faults and cable theft, and a mini-substation that exploded earlier today.
Areas affected by cable theft include:
* Allen’s Nek
* Honeydew Industrial (including LazerPark and Eagles Canyon)
* Wilgeheuwel and surrounds
Estimated time for restoration is expected later this Friday evening.
“We are also dealing with an explosion of a Mini Substation and cable faults,” Mangena said.
Areas affected by this include:
* Discovery
* Georgina
* Grobblerpark Ext73
* Roodepoort North
* Roodepoort West
Expected time for restoration for this outage is midday on Saturday, 29 June.
“We have dispatched technicians to work on both outages, and we will update customers on the progress,” he added.
City Power apologises for the inconvenience this is causing to customers in the areas affected.
