The nurses at the Princess Clinic are failing the community

Meghan Heyman from Witpoortjie writes:

Isn’t the purpose of a public clinic to help the community?

As a citizen, I am not happy with the treatment we patients get at Princess Clinic. We go to the clinic because we are seeking medical help. However, that is not what we get. The nurses are very rude; they treat you like they are doing you a favour by helping you. You can sit in a line waiting to get assisted for more than three hours and the line won’t be moving, but when their knocking off time draws near, they start working and pushing the queue.

On top of that they don’t maintain patient confidentiality – they gossip about you among themselves. Another thing is that you can never find medication there – we are always told it is out of stock.

Are they not taking the medication for themselves?

The Department of Health really needs to look into this matter. We cannot be treated like this just because we cannot afford private hospitals.
