RA projects empower youth

“Recently, we have been able to recruit four unemployed youths to assist with our projects. As always Beagle Watch came to our assistance with eight of their staff as additional hands,” said Baxter.

The Panorama Residents Association (PRA) has been working hard over the years to improve the services it offers to its members.

They saw a need to enhance the skills of the unemployed youth by involving them in their youth employment project, an initiative designed to offer temporary employment while learning basic skills such as grass cutting during projects conducted in the area.

Dave Baxter, the PRA’s chairperson, said during their committee meeting in April, where they earmarked various projects to be undertaken during their 2019/ 20 financial year, that they employed a number of youths to deal with problematic areas.

“Recently, we have been able to recruit four unemployed youths to assist with our projects. As always, Beagle Watch came to our assistance with eight of their staff as additional hands,” said Baxter.

As a result, the unsightly appearance of Albert Street between Hendrik Potgieter Road and Haak en Steek Avenue was dealt with.

Baxter concluded by thanking Beagle Watch for never letting them down.
