Horison Methodist Church’s winter walk and sock collection
"We urge everyone to continue donating old or new socks"
The Horison Methodist Church put some fun in their fundraising event when they held their second annual winter walk and sock drive at Len Rutter Park in Florida.
The fun walk was a success as people came out in their numbers to support the good cause. Some of the church members and the invited community members took part in the 2,5km walk and while others tackled the 5km version.
The event ended with a great braai and everyone went home with full, happy tummies.
“We appreciate the support we received from the community and we urge everyone to continue donating old or new socks. The more donations we receive the more under-privileged people we can help,” said Vanessa Kilian from the Horison Methodist Church.
Donated socks can be dropped off at the church, situated at 52 Cutten Street, Horison.
