Tae Kwon Do girl to compete in Brazil

She will be grading for her 1st dan black belt in a few weeks’ time and a back-a-buddy campaign for her has been started at https://www.backabuddy.co.za/amelia

 

Ten-year-old Amelia De Arruda from Weltevreden Park has been doing Tae Kwon Do for the last four years and has been doing extremely well.

She trains at the ACE Yom Chi Dojang (Part of the Tae Kwon Do Centre) at the Learnwrite School in Allen’s Nek, under instructor Rahen Pillay.

The Charterhouse Grade 5 learner has been selected to compete at the Unified Tae Kwon Do World Championships in Iquazu Falls, Brazil from 9 till 11 August.

Amelia achieved two gold medals (for patterns and sparring) and a silver medal for special techniques on Saturday, 1 June at the South African Tae Kwon Do Championships.

Proud mother, Patritzia De Arruda said, “She has worked very, very hard and I am proud of her achievements.”
