United States president, Donald Trump was born on this day in 1946.

Born and bred in New York City, he received an economics degree from the Wharton School. Before focusing on politics, Trump was a businessman and television personality.

As as businessman he took charge of the family’s real estate business and renamed it The Trump Organization, which was all about building and renovating skyscrapers, hotels, casinos and golf courses.

He has co-authored several books, including The Art of the Deal.

He also owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and he produced and hosted the TV reality show, The Apprentice.

Trump does not drink alcohol because his older brother died as a result of alcohol abuse. He claimed that he never smoked cigarettes or used drugs, including marijuana.

The president avoids tea and coffee, but fast food is a favourite of his.
