“On arrival, police saw two vehicles and confronted the occupants. They subsequently drove off,” said Dlamini.

According to Dlamini, the police chased the two vehicles and a shootout then ensued on Main Reef Road.

“During the shootout, two of the suspects were shot dead. All the other suspects were nabbed. One was wounded and three others were arrested with no injuries,” he added.

Dlamini went on to say that four firearms were recovered on the scene and one of the vehicles that was being used by the suspects was found to have been reported hijacked in Meadowlands.

“The other car was impounded for further investigations,” he concluded.
