Pathways hosts Golf Day for Charity

At the event mulligans and raffle tickets were sold for the liquor hamper to raise funds for the centre.

Pathways Roodepoort Centre for Disabled Children held its annual Golf Day at Ruimsig Country Club on 30 May.

The main objective of the event was to raise money for the centre, as they rely solely on funding and donations to thrive.

It was a good day of golf on the course and players were playing impressive strokes in the generous spirit of giving, and all the holes were a pleasure to visit as one was greeted by friendly representatives from the sponsors.

The main sponsors of the event were Absolute Security, Afriboom, African Bank, Afrisam, Elite Star Trading, GP Lawnmowers, Johnny de Jesus, Ruimsig Gemeente and Space TV.

At the event, mulligans (a chance to replay a bad shot, and not usually added to the overall score) and raffle tickets were sold for the liquor hamper, to raise funds for the centre.

Some interesting collectors’ items, which included signed Sharks and Lions rugby jerseys, were on auction and were later sold to the highest bidders.

Thank you gifts were prepared for the sponsors of the event and Pathways received a donation of R5 000 from African Bank.

MC at the dinner and prize-giving, Pieter Koen, addressed and entertained all present as a successful Pathways Roodepoort Golf Day came to a conclusion.
