While social media users may have reacted positively in numbers to assist Lerato Letsie, the woman who went onto Facebook and claimed she was drugged and kept hostage on a property in Weltevreden Park, the Honeydew Police could not confirm any reports on the matter.
On 3 June, Lerato posted a number of live videos and messages on her Facebook page, appealing for help, claiming that a man had drugged her and locked her inside the house.

She appealed for help from anyone and claimed that she had called the police, but they had not arrived on the property as yet, and she was passing out.
Although blue lights could be seen in the last video she posted, filmed on top of the roof, somehow the matter was not registered at the station.

The Honeydew Police station commander, Brigadier Anesh Maharaj, confirmed to the Northsider that no kidnapping was reported at his station.
Lerato has been approached for comment on the matter, although her last post claimed she was safe.
