To any clear-thinking person, the situation in South Africa has now reached the ‘Banana Republic’ stage, which will only become worse.
Just a few examples:
• Eskom cannot meet the domestic demand, with costs rising for services that are not available.
• The South African Airways (SAA) has been bailed out for billions of rand, and cannot continue to be a burden to the taxpayer.
• The SABC is begging for cash and is not worth keeping.
• The Post Office cannot even produce stamps!
The President seems to think that it is ‘business as usual’, but who on earth is going to invest in a country that cannot provide services?
I noticed with dismay that, during our recent National Elections, the majority of South African citizens were fooled once again by empty promises when they went to the polls to make their mark.
What a pity to see such a beautiful country falling apart in just 25 years of poor governance. Our young, qualified citizens will continue to emigrate and leave the illiterate masses to beg for world assistance.
Africa is indeed the dark continent.
