Gardening on two wheels

Raymond Risseeuw is a Jack of all trades.

Who would have ever thought of having a gardening service company on two wheels?

The answer is easy – the owner of Rays Garden Service, Raymond Risseeuw from Helderkruin, who runs his business using a bicycle.

Raymond maintains gardens, cuts and trims trees and does landscaping, among other things.

“I have been doing this for a year. It keeps me busy and motivated. My business keeps me moving forward,” he said.

When asked why he decided to use a bicycle, he said, “I watched a video on YouTube which showed how people take new bicycles and change them into three-wheelers. I also saw one man making trailers and thought to myself, if this person can use a wooden trailer for a business, what is stopping me from doing something similar?”

He said he’d always considered a business washing cars, but then the bicycle idea came to him.

“A friend of mine built a trailer for me and that is when my business started. In order for people to know about me, I have business cards which I place in shops to advertise my services,” he added.

“Getting to places is often a challenge, because the trailer is small and heavy when its loaded with all my equipment,” Raymond concluded.
