A joint operation by APCAN Security, the Florida Police Station and the K9 unit in Maraisburg on Wednesday, 22 May, has yielded positive results.
The visit was aimed at combating the current illegal mining situation that is on the rise in the country.
According to a Facebook post by APCAN, a sweep was done at the mines in the area, and upon their arrival, the suspects fled.
“The suspects were later caught, detained and handed over to the police. They were found in possession of illegal firearms,” an APCAN Security Group post read.
