Three people injured as taxi overturns
According to Netcare's Facebook post, the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control of his vehicle, resulting in it overturning.
At least three people sustained injuries, with one in a critical condition, during the weekend’s taxi accident in Roodepoort.
An initial report suggested that the accident happened on Ontdekkers Road before midnight; however, Netcare 911 advised that the collision was actually on Mouton Road on Saturday at about 10.30pm.

According to Netcare’s Facebook post, the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control of his vehicle, resulting in it overturning.
“The critically injured patient, a female in her 20s, required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise her. The Fire and Rescue Services had to use the Jaws of Life to free her from the wreckage. Due to the nature of her injuries, Netcare 2, the specialised helicopter ambulance, was activated to airlift the patient to hospital for further treatment,” the post read.
Authorities were on scene.
